SMI Gallery @ Academy Square

The SMI Gallery @ Academy Square is Studio Montclair’s first gallery dedicated to the exhibition of artwork by established artist members. The gallery’s main purpose is to provide member artists increased exposure with long-running shows in a professional venue. In addition, the gallery will serve as a training ground for educating interested members in the process of organizing and curating exhibitions. Central to the gallery’s mission is enriching Montclair and surrounding communities by providing a free and local venue to view notable and significant artwork by professional regional artists. The gallery will mount three shows each calendar year.

SMI Virginia S. Block Gallery

The mission of the SMI Virginia S. Block Gallery is to provide visibility for emerging and under-represented artist members of Studio Montclair. The gallery will guide participating artists through standard gallery procedures, to educate them in such professional matters as pricing, labeling, presentation formats, hanging, contracts, and insurance. The gallery will mount three shows each calendar year.
The Virginia S. Block Gallery was established in 2003 to honor Studio Montclair co-founder and first president Virginia Schaffer Block. It was located in the Clark House at 108 Orange Road until mid-2010.
