The show features work in a variety of visual media in which chance played a major role in the creative process, inspiring the artist to examine their work in a new way or take a different approach moving forward.

Explains curator Matt Roberts, “Artists fall ‘victim’ to mishaps and random occurrences all the time, whether it’s spilling something on the canvas they are working on or failing to set their camera’s exposure speed properly. For all of the artists in the show, ‘mistakes’ were not a message to start over; rather, they provided a starting off point – an impetus to a new direction and a new fusion of energy into the work.”
