About the Artist: Jim Price

I originally got interested in art working as a studio assistant for Picasso in the mid-70’s.  He had recently moved his studio to Pere Lachaise and was looking for some help setting up the new space.  He was pretty old and grumpy by then and not speaking much but that was OK because I didn’t speak French or Spanish and he didn’t speak English.  Most of the time you couldn’t even hear him.  The job didn’t last long; there wasn’t a lot of new work happening but all in all I have to say, for a young would-be artist, it was a great experience.
