MEET OUR PANELISTS:
Virginia Fabbri Butera, PhD, is the Director of the Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery, a tenured Professor of Art History and Chairperson of the Art Program and the Dance and Music Minors at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. She received her B.A. in Renaissance Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, her M.A. in History of Art from Johns Hopkins University and her PhD in Art History from the Graduate School and University Center at the City University of New York. She has curated art exhibitions for more than thirty-eight years for museums and galleries such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Toledo Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery and other institutions around the country. Celene Ryan serves as agent/coach for gallery artists at Arts Unbound, helping them better understand the business of art and find the right context for selling their work. She has more than twelve years of experience as an arts management professional in New York City, including ten years as a gallery director. She is a graduate of The Art Institute of Chicago and holds a masters degree in visual culture with a focus on work by self-taught artists from NYU. She has worked directly with many self-taught artists, most with special needs, first at the American Folk Art Museum and then as the director of Ricco/Maresca Gallery
Liron Sissman is the head of Artist Advisory. As a successful professional artist with an MBA from New York University, she draws on her art and business experience to coach, mentor, and promote visual artists. She helps artists reach their professional goals by formulating strategies, identifying next steps, and creating an achievable plan of action.
