September 14 – December 18, 2012. “Linear Vernacular: The Language of Line,” curated by Gallery Directors Virginia S. Block and Karen Nielsen-Fried, shows the unlimited ways artists use line, the most basic of elements, in their artwork.
Studio Montclair is pleased to announce “Art: Transitions,” an art exhibit on view from June 2 – 28, 2012. “Art: Transitions” highlights five artists who work in traditional media (painting, ink, photography, encaustic, and pastel) in very idiosyncratic ways, often combining techniques from art history with their own experimental interpretations.

Studio Montclair (SMI) announces its 15th annual juried exhibition, “Viewpoints 2012,” which opens on March 26 and continues through April 20, 2012, at the Ben Shahn South and East Galleries at William Paterson University
SMI’s Annual Member’s Exhibit, “State of the Art 2012,” an exhibit on view from January 20 to April 11, 2012, featuring the most recent work of SMI members. The exhibit will take place in Studio Montclair’s galleries at Academy Square, 33 Plymouth Street in Montclair.
Studio Montclair Inc. (SMI) announces “The Value of Trees,” featuring the work of Marcie Cooperman, that is part of SMI’s annual “Meet the Artist” exhibition and program. The exhibit opens on November 3 and runs until November 28, 2011, at the Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, NJ.

Color is the messenger as well as the message in “Full Spectrum,” which explores the limitless expressive and aesthetic possibilities when artists are inspired by color. Saturated, bold, or delicately nuanced, unconventionally combined, harmonious or discordant: color for the sake of beauty and/or impact.
