In the comfort of a brand new screening room, generously offered by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, SMI members observed the creative process in action.
We started with a hilarious Mel Brooks animated short on abstract art, followed by the documentary “Gerhard Richter Painting.” In this film, Richter, one of the world’s most famous living painters, reveals his own groundbreaking painting process to the viewer.
The evening ended with a discussions of the creative process, moderated by well known curator and artist Margery Amdur.
Margery Amdur, MFA, Curator and Associate Professor of Art at Rutgers University. Ms. Amdur has exhibited nationally and internationally with over 50 solo and two-person exhibitions and has been reviewed in numerous national and international publications.
